BSc Physics course was started in ITM College of Arts and Science in 2003. About 28 students were admitted for the course. Prof. P P Krishnan, a retired faculty from Govt. Brennen College, Thalassery was the Head of the Department with 4 faculty members under him.
MSc Physics course was started in 2013 with 20 filled seats. Professor M. Sreedharan a philosopher and a very good physicist who retired as a faculty from Govt. Brennen College, Thalassery took charge as the Head of the Department with 8 faculty members. The Physics department has a well equipped laboratory with separate labs for both BSc Physics and MSc Physics students.
Physics Department functions in a separate block near the main block from 2016. At present there are 8 faculty members in the Department. We have with us two esteemed and gifted retired Professors Prof. V.P.Abdullakutty and Prof. B Dheepak with great caliber who are gems for this department.
